Where is this I find me? How came I to this spot? Methinks it seems familiar, yet in truth I know it not. A door with curtained windows all aflutter on the breeze. A long and twisting staircase that spirals where it climbs. A niche, standing empty, where once a statue stood. A door leading to somewhere, but it won't open for me. F. M. Bonevento has been on a poetic journey since 1980. In his second collection of poetry, he leads others through the musings of his mind, across time and space, people, and a variety of settings. As he darts into spaces sometimes known and often unexpected, Bonevento casts a lyrical light on the sacred and the mundane as well as the mythic and the mind. While exploring themes such as myths and legends; the beauty of nature; faith and prayer; and the realm of dreams, ideas, and emotions, Bonevento invites others to reflect on his introspective perspectives while taking their own unique journeys through the mind to explore ideas and feelings about the world. Musings shares a journey in verse created from one man's life experiences and reflections over a twenty-five-year period.

Form, Power, and Person in Robert Creeley’s Life and Work

Pages: 250
Authors: Stephen Fredman, Steve McCaffery
Categories: Literary Criticism
Type: BOOK - Published: 2010-03-15 - Publisher: University of Iowa Press

By any measure—international reputation, influence upon fellow writers and later generations, number of books published, scholarly and critical attention—Robert Creeley (1926–2005) is a literary giant, an outstanding, irreplaceable poet. For many decades readers have remarked upon the almost harrowing emotional nakedness of Creeley’s writing. In the years since his death, it may be that the disappearance of the writer allows that nakedness to be observed more readily and without embarrassment. Written by the foremost critics of his poetry, Form, Power, and Person in Robert Creeley’s Life and Work is the first book to treat Creeley’s career as a whole. Masterfully edited by Stephen Fredman and Steve McCaffery, the essays in this collection have been gathered into three parts. Those in “Form” consider a variety of characteristic formal qualities that differentiate Creeley from his contemporaries. In “Power,” writers reflect on the pressure exerted by emotions, gender issues, and politics in Creeley’s life and work. In “Person,” Creeley’s unique artistic and psychological project of constructing a person—reflected in his correspondence, teaching, interviews, collaborations, and meditations on the concept of experience—is excavated. While engaging these three major topics, the authors remain, as Creeley does, intent upon the ways such issues appear in language, for Creeley’s nakedness is most conspicuously displayed in his intimate relationship with words. THE UNSUNG VERSES: A Poetry Collection is not just a book, it is a dream come true. Getting a book published by including poems which are extremely close to my heart, was always a desire, which blossomed in my heart over the years of my growing up. Literature is the food for soul for me. I have always took pride in collecting books from writers across the globe. I am a voracious reader and a creative writer. I write poems, stories and articles in English and Hindi. This Anthology has 51 poems composed by me. I derive inspiration from daily life and various aspects from the myriad human emotions. Life is not life, if emotions are drained from the fountain of the heart. Majority of my poems are filled with the love between a mother and child. I empathize with people from all walks of life be it a heart broken lady, a small girl vendor or a transgender. The book is dedicated to my son, who is the sole purpose of my life. I wish, when he grows up, he nurtures and inherits the love for literature. I strive to raise him as a human being, the society may be proud of someday. Whatever he aims to be in life, my priority is to let him inculcate human values in his nature and character as he grows up as a man. I am sure, my efforts in composing these poems will be appreciated by my most respected and loved readers.

Authors: WILLIAMSJI MAVELI
Categories: Poetry
Type: BOOK - Published: 2019-05-10 - Publisher: Notion Press

Williamsji Maveli’s poetic analysis is a deep expression of the noblest human emotions: of love and sympathy, of awareness of the infinite value of life, of the realizations of the eternal truth through the strokes of individual talents of creativity. Poetry focuses on the expression of feelings and ideas by the use of distinctive style and rhythm. Imagination is the ability of the mind to be creative or resourceful and be active without worries; every word has its own meaning, detached from the actual word it’s described by. Poetry achieves a different level of understanding by allowing us to really experience life through the emotions and experiences of others; it is a blend of imagination and truth. Poetry is the art of apprehending and interpreting ideas by the faculty of imagination; the art of idealizing in thought and in expression. Poetry is all those put together in a single volume of human brilliance! And a poet’s life and analytical studies belongs to the future as well as the present. A true poet lives not only in his contemporary time but also in the time of the future with his cultural heritage projecting the eternal essence of human sympathy and consciousness.
